Despite what I've read in another review that claims this item can hold up to 1000 lbs there is no weight limit for the item itself / capacity for this item. , on the packaging or in the accompanying documents, so the weight limit is unknown. The item I received had a sticker on the bottom saying it was made in Vietnam, the Revain parts say China. I didn't buy it for normal use but for a project I'm doing. However, I would never buy this for the dining table. Despite the cute looks, the bearings inside are very noisy when spinning without anything, and with the added weight the noise gets louder. I don't see any lubrication of the bearings because it is a closed system. If you decide to buy it for a dining table I would buy extra felt pads for the bottom as the pads on it are flimsy and I could see those scratches or marks on the table especially if you add more weight. I only have a pack of Stanley 3/8" - 10mm felt pads that work great. The Stanley part number is V1723.
