Sometimes old school is best school

I really wanted to love them - I was so excited I ordered the first two sizes while expecting baby #2. Unfortunately, the soft inner gauze pads, while extremely handy for finding a newborn, soak up liquid every time the baby walks, meaning the cover has to be changed every time. I still use quilted inserts to "stay dry" at night as my baby is very sensitive to the sensation of moisture. Sizes 11lbs and up) works great with just about any prefolded cloth diaper you like. Old school Gerber prefolds were (and still are) ideal for newborn blankets as they were not too bulky for baby and very economical. The cover rarely gets dirty and needs to be replaced, but this depends on the amount of large poop. Some days we need 4 covers, other days I only change the cover before bed to feel fresh for night mode. A 6 lb 14 oz boy from birth is ideal and has enough room for the umbilical stump (and clamp). The faux denim design was so cute! You just have to reckon with the fact that each layer will require a new cover. If you're happy with one coverage per layer, that's awesome. A hybrid of New Generation and Rumarooz, these methods are both much better so far than pocket diapers (which I used for baby #1 until she was potty trained at 18 months). like leaks. The pocket diaper allows urine to roll over the surface of the pocket as it penetrates the pad - these methods of using a cotton diaper next to the skin allow for quick absorption of liquid without the risk of it dripping too close to the outside edges! I was brave enough to go old school with baby #1!
