Review on Uniden R3 - Ultra High Performance Radar Detector with GPS, Mute Memory, Voice Alerts, Red Light & Speed Camera Alerts, OLED Display (Black) by Carlos Long

After reading reviews and watching videos from trusted reviewers I decided to update one of my old speed camera detectors mainly due to false alarms. My previous detector was GPS enabled and could block known fixed false alarms, but couldn't do anything about false alarms caused by newer vehicles with built-in radars for security systems. So I put up with the false alarms and found out they were caused by nearby cars. I was able to turn them off but it was very annoying to say the least. Over time, more and more false alarms will appear. I am an experienced user of radar detectors, since I was old enough to drive. The range of this detector is amazing and definitely one of the best if not the best on the market. It detects false alarms like no other. In this regard, he has exceeded all my expectations. It is highly customizable, you can customize different colors and appearance of the display. It can show your current speed and detected bandwidth as well as signal strength. You can silence the alarm with the mute button at the end of the connector or block the alarm for known false alarms. It remembers the ones that are blocked and won't disable them next time. Once set up with your options, it's a dream come true. I set mine up so it doesn't beep when I'm driving under 45mph, but it is indicated visually. Also, I turned off the beep after a few seconds at higher speeds so I was warned but not annoyed and didn't have to hit the mute button. The image is still showing so I know if I'm close and when it's gone. You can also set different tones for different groups. In my area, the Ka-band dominates along with the K-band. You can also choose which lanes should not be detected at all if the police are not using them in your area. The mount is great too. I was able to mount the mount/suction cup behind the rear view mirror and the detector was only visible under the mirror. The cord is also the perfect length, twisted into a spiral. Very well thought out in my opinion. The overall package is very beautiful and also functional. All of this just works and works like no other. This detector is such a bargain compared to some of its competitors that are twice the price. I did a lot of research before purchasing and this fit the bill and exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this to everyone except those willing to shell out thousands for built-in protection. You will not regret it. Spending thousands for built-in protection.
