My road bike uses Presta valves and I found these little things very fragile! Once you open the valve, it doesn't take much effort to bend or even break the small stem. I used to think it meant the whole hose was wasted, but now I know you can easily replace the valve core with this tool. Unscrewing the valve core and screwing in a new one is very easy and this device does it flawlessly. Just be sure to get as much air out of the tire as possible before removing the stem. Road bikes in particular hold the air under high pressure and it will escape when you remove the valve core. " shows some kind of extension rod that goes around the Presta core. They show a tool that attaches to that rod and rotates it. I have no idea what that extension is or why you might need it. It is not included and neither did I. Understand why you need it anyway, save some money and only replace the valve core, not the whole hose!
