I use this tiny device to get my old desktop hard drives (HD) working so I can retrieve data from them. The converter arrived yesterday and I even received data from a floppy disk from when I had my very first digital camera, the DCS520! It works fast and efficiently, is EASY to use and comes with all the cables you need to use HD! The hard drives I connected to the converter were two SATA drives and the others were two old 3.5" IDE drives. At first I was hesitant to connect an IDE to it because the contacts didn't match. Plug in the included four pin power supply and the drives start spinning and I can see the partitions I created on this old IDE drive! All four drives worked fine and fast on my DELL Win10 laptop! Despite the included instructions other instructions for ejecting the drives included drive ( ov) I just ejected the drive, then powered off the power and unplugged the drive, and if it's an IDE drive, I unplugged the power supply cord as well. Desktop/Laptop with bootable (or any) drive attached; it does not load. Connect the drives AFTER booting. It's so easy to use! November 2019 update: I still use it from time to time BUT internal hard drives (HD) previously installed in the desktop. Fast and reliable, THIS is the best computer hardware I've ever bought!
