Review on Bronze Over The Door Towel Rack Bar with 5 Hooks Organizer by Blue Donuts by Jose Baldwin

I read most of the reviews before ordering this to alert me to any problems I might have. My only concern was that the hooks that go across the door would be too loose (my doors are 1 3/8 inches thick), but they actually fit the door perfectly with a secure fit. Unfortunately the door doesn't close - it hits the inner door frame. I have all standard doors and every house I've ever lived in has doors of this type where they have a 1/4 inch frame all the way inside the door (see photo). The only door this will work with should be completely flat at the top of the door frame. The manufacturer should mention this as an important note in order to avoid many unnecessary returns. They just say it fits all standard doors but nothing on door frames. Another thing that is important to mention is the size; they haven't done it long enough. The design was exactly what I wanted, a rod to hang my small 17x24 inch bath rug (her picture showed a 13 inch gap and I only needed 12 inches) and bath towel hooks but between the top rod and the hooks for Towels; The mat completely covers the hooks. The only thing that can be hung on the shelf without closing the hooks are small towels or washcloths. It's definitely for tall people. Some people have complained that the bar is too high, but as I'm 5'7" and can easily reach the top of the door, I don't think that applies to me. The other thing is, if you're actually trying to put something on a pole that tall, you have to get a few inches over the pole to get anything over it. My husband is 5ft 10" and struggled a bit too so I'd say it's suitable for people over that height. The last picture shows how the cross bar is simply welded to the hooks and not bolted. As this is an issue that will most likely see a lot of use and significant weight from wet towels, this worries me. The block itself is great; It only needs to be an inch or two wider and at least six inches longer, with the bar dropping a few inches at the top to allow you to close the door and be easier to access. Then it's five stars.
