Installed on 2003 330i Sedan connected to factory AUX. Decided to purchase after seeing similar review. I used an RCA to 3.5mm adapter to connect it to the factory aux port and set it to switched power with an Add-A-Fuse kit. So the mod was fully reversible to the factory 3.5mm port. That was really great because now I only have one power plug on the dash and really enjoy being able to stream music without messing around with a hundred. different cords and get tangled up every time I get in the car. Mine had no interference or motor noise so I didn't need a ground loop isolator. My particular dongle doesn't put a phone call through the stereo, but I've read from a few people who have received such devices. A year later I had no problems with either my setup or the key itself. The only quirk is that when I turn the machine off quickly, such as B. move around a bit and then turn off again, the key will get confused and won't connect. The solution is to leave it off for a minute or so before turning it back on. In my particular setup, the speakers made a loud popping noise when the key was turned off. This is because the BMW radio stayed on a bit longer than the key's power supply. I connected a diode and capacitor in series with the power wire and the problem was solved. You most likely won't come across this unless you have the same setup as me, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
