This notebook (let's call it that although it can be many things) is nicely conceived and beautifully executed. It comes packaged in what could easily be a gift box, and inside, wrapped in parchment. It's all quite elegant.The notebook itself has its covers and pages filled with full-page astronomical themes that are more fanciful and artistic than scientific. There is a great deal of variety and it's fun just to page through the book and admire the artwork.As a practical notebook, this is for personal use and not typical business use. That's fine and that's the intent. The pages are sturdy and plentiful (80 sheets, 160 pages) and take ink well. However the ink needs to be dark. I would suggest a high(er) quality ball point pen with a fine point and black ink so as to be easily seen on some of the darker background sections. This applies to both journaling and sketching. This is not for color sketches for the most part.The other issue is that, while there is a nice closure band, etc., the cover doesn't seem up to the construction quality of the rest of the book.Overall, in comparison with other similar style books in the same price range, I'd rate this four stars. That's very good, but it just doesn't quite make it to the five star category.
