Review on πŸ“ Bee Paper Company 926T30-8511: Top-Rated Bleedproof Marker Pad, 8-1/2 x 11 Inches by Jennifer Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Such an underrated paper brand! I would definitely buy.

I don't know why The Bee Paper Company doesn't get much recognition in the art world, my experience with them has been really excellent so far. I'm very impressed - and that comes from someone who has tried just about every type of paper. :) Most marking paper, both cheap and expensive, is extremely thin and that makes it, at least for me, not good enough to use for final work, framed figures, or for work you intend to sell. This paper has a very professional look and is very similar in appearance and weight to Strathmore's Smooth Surface Bristol Paper (in yellow notepad), but costs less. The color is not pure white. There is a whitish tint, but it is imperceptible. I even find it flattering. I personally don't like white paper which looks more like blue and white. I think it might look cheap and it definitely isn't. This is good strong paper; almost like cardboard. It definitely looks like good quality paper to me. I happened to buy this for this special occasion as I wanted to make my own planner inserts for my 6 ring binder. I've found that my regular inkjet printer goes through my regular inkjet printer with no problem and the ink doesn't show through to the other side of the page at all. easy, but luckily that's not the case for this article. With moderate pressure with Copic markers, I found the ink barely bleeds across the page (I have yet to find fully bleed resistant paper, but I've heard Yupo paper is pretty good, so I'm hoping to match that with my markers try soon). Of course, if you held the marker in one position on the bee paper side for a while, the ink would definitely leak through to the other side, but even then it's minimal. Even Strathmore Bristol will have some gore. Just to add, when using pens (I tested both Sakura Micron pens and a regular ballpoint pen) and light, even strokes, there was no line feathering at all. I am really impressed. I will definitely be repurchasing this paper and will be on the lookout for other Bee Paper Company products in the future.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automation

Not What I Would Call Bleed-Proof
