Revainrating 4 out of 5

Does as advertised, but I find the 5 year guarantee deceptive.

item received on time and without damage. I installed the bulbs a few days ago, they work as they should from day one. I've installed them in my porch lights and I'm excited to see how much life I can get out of them. So far I think it's good value for money. Any problems and I will update. *UPDATE: 7/19/10 The lights still work fine but tend to turn on about 2 hours earlier than they should and turn off later than I think they should and this results in longer times. Working time. My upgrade is mainly due to the 5 year warranty offered on this lamp. READ the fine print! The guarantee is based on an "average usage" of three hours per day. With the lightbulb flicking on and off, I have to wonder where I would have to live with only three hours between dusk and dawn? It must be some new modern math that I don't understand or don't want to learn. If the bulb fails I have to send it back to her with a tracking number for her to check so she can replace it. expensive shipping exceeds the cost of the bulb itself. This effectively creates a useless self-cancellation guarantee. This is just my opinion. Yes, I can always use the switch to turn the lightbulb on later and off earlier, but I did that before the lightbulb with a photocell, so there's no need for a lightbulb with a photocell. I see a practical use in coming home late and the lights are on so it's not a waste of time and it's a good thing I sometimes forget to turn on the lights for arriving guests. With heavy use of these lights I wouldn't do Be surprised if they drop out in a year or so. Maybe less. Will I buy solar cells again? Yes, I think so, but from my local Walmart or hardware store, and I don't have to think about the hassle of sending something back. Just another modern disposable product. So I lowered my rating by one star. UPDATE: 10/25/2019 If it gets dark a little earlier now, the lights will turn on at a more convenient time and turn off at an earlier time. . This means that both bulbs now burn a total of about 4-5 hours less per day. So far, so good.

Cons
