🧲 Advanced Hardness Testing File Set Review

The preliminary shape of the product is as expected and as described. I think they are a bit expensive for what they are. They are a necessary evil in the manufacture of knives with their own heat treatment. I give 4 stars because of the price.

A simple and relatively inexpensive way to test the hardness of metals without the use of expensive equipment. Make sure you always start with the hardest file and work your way up to softer files as you test. Otherwise, you can wear out softer files on hard materials. Great set to test.

For the mechanical engineer they are great for quickly getting a rough estimate of a material's hardness. I use them to determine how easily unfamiliar material can be processed. They're good for that, but if you need an accurate hardness test, you'll have to spend a lot more money on reputable gauges.
