I hated my old fabric shoe rack because all my shoes were sticking out and the shelves kept collapsing. The presence of front covers on this storage device makes the space more manageable. The shelves are sturdy and I could easily fit 4 pairs of flats next to each other (one shoe on top of the other). We were able to build a block around the space we needed, which was great as we had unused space under the front window that was often cluttered. We ended up building it as a 2x3x3. We place all the shoes neatly in 2x3 cubes, using the space of the 1x2 cube under the pocket window. We have enough parts left over to build another block upstairs for extra toiletries that don't fit neatly in the linen closet! This product is highly recommended! I also liked the little hammer that comes with the kit. Will definitely bring you $$!
