A lot of thought went into the design. It is very easy to assemble, although the instructions (showing the pictures of the black block so nothing is visible; the video is too far away to see the alignment of the parts) are inadequate. Still, 15-20 minutes and I was already putting on my shoes. I was amazed how many pairs can be saved. This is a great little purchase - cute and practical - would do it again without question.

Easy assembly. Looks great. I can put the shoebox (shoes inside) on the shelf. The only downside is that they could be a bit wider. I wear normal men's shoes from 10 to 10.5 on top of my dress shoes. Difficult to slip them into the hole next to them without slightly tipping one and putting it on another shoe to make it fit. Other types of shoes match but are tight. I have this space next to my bed where a dirty chair with clothes used to sit. I hate wearing shoes, I can see my bed and I really don't have room in my closet for everyone. Very easy to assemble once you know which sheet goes where. I adjusted mine more along the lines as I needed the bottom tier to match my knee and thigh high boots. Otherwise only booties / ankle boots fit into these cubes. I have a small walk in closet and this was the perfect solution to store my shoes and have quick access to them without taking up too much space. I hated my old fabric shoe rack because all my shoes were sticking out and the shelves kept collapsing. The presence of front covers on this storage device makes the space more manageable. The shelves are sturdy and I could easily fit 4 pairs of flats next to each other (one shoe on top of the other).
