These fit right away in my consumer-grade Wahl trimmer. They are quiet and I expect that they will cut very well. I much prefer having blades with a longer cut than attaching the extensions to the trimmer. I find the extensions tend to get caught up in the hair of my Shih Tzu and since he hates (!) getting groomed I want to do it as quickly and smoothly as possible. See full review
