Difficult to assemble, height adjustment doesn't work

This chair was quite difficult to assemble. Luckily I read some of the other reviews otherwise I would never have put this together. The method given in the instructions for mounting the back panel to the base just doesn't work with the short screws provided. You should use the 4 longer screws on the base and leave enough room for the back brace to slide under the support bracket. Once you have tightened the base bracket, you can insert 4 short screws. But be careful not to pull! I had a couple of screws that ripped off the threads when tightened because they're cheap metal and you can only bite them 2-3 threads. On the armrest, the welds prevent the washers from making good contact with the counterpart. Surface. Some of the screw holes were clogged with cloth, cardboard, and other debris, so they had to be cleared out with something sharp before the screws could be inserted. One of the screw bushings started to spin freely when tightened, but since it was only 1/3 of the way up the lever screws, the other two seemed to be holding up fairly tightly for now. When assembled, the chair looks very nice and is also quite comfortable. Another complaint is that the legs are painted brass/gold and the wheel covers are stainless/silver. I wish they had hubcaps in the same color as well, as that's not attractive. This is for my wife to use for her desk at home and while I think it looks nicer than 80% of the other office chairs out there, assembly was a nightmare and for over $200 I was expecting one better experience.
