Very Disappointing

I was very disappointed with these glue sticks. My son came home from school and gave them back to me saying they wouldn't work. He explained that if you put some glue on the paper, it instantly became clear and dry, and he hated the smell. I had to find out for myself so first I opened one up and sniffed it and it was gross. Then I tried glue and I had the same problems. I applied glue to the paper and after a few seconds it was dry and not sticky. I had high expectations for the Gorilla Glue brand. It was just disappointing.
