YES, this thing has a 3D effect in minimal light, but it needs USB micro power to work. I put in AAA batteries as recommended, but those batteries were too small and didn't work! AA batteries came up but didn't work either! This thing needs to be plugged into a USB mic to work as batteries don't work. I was hoping to display this thing in zones that extend USB passthrough, but I can't do it the way it's intended! This is a disappointment for me, but at least it works with USB mic! Despite what has been described, there is no remote control to change the color of this thing. You have to touch the sensor to do this. This sensor does not always work; Therefore, if you put too much body fat on it, it needs to be cleaned. It stopped working for me, but I cleaned it with ISO alcohol and it worked! This item is so cheap and the only problem is that it kind of works! If I wanted something that worked 100% then I would have to pay more money! But for what I paid for it, at least it works well. Cheap junk but worth it! If you want more, pay more! It is so easy!
