I was very excited to try this because I have young children who squirm a lot when cutting their nails. I figured it might do the job better and make them more "fun". Although it cuts the nail fairly quickly, it's a very rough, jagged cut. The clipped nail doesn't seem to snag, but looks pretty jagged and would probably come in handy for back scratchers. After that, you'll definitely need to take a file with you, which only adds to the time and excitement. If someone is unable to use regular clippers due to arthritis or whatever, this would be a good alternative. Otherwise regular nail clippers are much faster and less tedious. Also, the little trap doesn't close very well and ended up scattering post sawdust all over my counter. I still have a few stars because he cuts his nails and might be the best option for a select group of people, but for me and the average family it's just not the best option.
