Review on Logitech M535 Bluetooth Mouse - Compact Wireless Mouse with 10-Month Battery Life, Compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Chrome, Android, Blue by Tony Winn

Another great Logitech Bluetooth mouse!

I bought this mouse on a whim. I have paired an M557 with my laptop which has served me well for a number of years but I love the design of the new Logitech mice (I have an M330 Silent which I use with my desktop which I really like and when they "Silent" version of this mouse, I see!). I had no problem pairing the M535 with my Asus laptop and all features/functions work well. This mouse can be configured using the new Logitech Options software, which looks a lot simpler than the original SetPoint software. The button configuration is good, but I like the way the middle mouse button brings up the start menu, so that was the only change. The sensor is accurate and responds correctly. I prefer a faster cursor, so zoom in a bit here and I'm spot on. It's definitely a travel mouse, about the same size as the M557, just different in shape and texture. The matte surface of the keys and the rubberized edge ensure a comfortable feel in the hand. Like most Logitech mice, it moves smoothly (especially on my gaming mousepad, which is designed for low friction). It's certainly lighter than the M557 as it only fits one AA battery unlike the pair used in the M557. However, this is subjective as users vary in their weight preferences. As far as connectivity goes, I think I've sorted it all out with the M557. I've had disconnects in the past, but after searching the web I found a tool that focused on the OS network settings and Bluetooth settings to prevent power and connections dropping (to save battery and improve performance). With that in mind, the M535 performs well and never misses a move or click. The main reason I, like many others, choose Bluetooth mice on my laptop is to keep the USB ports free. This mouse, just like the previous one, serves exactly that purpose. For anyone interested, make sure your laptop/desktop is bluetooth enabled. Otherwise, you'll have to buy a separate Bluetooth dongle to connect your mouse, defeating the purpose of keeping ports free. If so, take a look at the M335, it's the same mouse with a Logitech Nano USB wireless receiver.

Pros
  • LONG BATTERY LIFE - 10 month battery life extends the time between battery changes (Battery life may vary by user and computer conditions)
Cons
  • Something else
