I was worried I wouldn't get an "original" but this massage roller is just great. It's basically a slightly flexible plastic/polymer tube with rollers on top. This allows the user to roll the wand over the skin with enough "grip" to knead and stretch the muscle. The stick's flexibility could be greater, but it's a balance of push and give. The less flexion, the easier it is to put more pressure on the muscle. The more flexibility, the easier it is to work around the curves of the body and even out the pressure. The rollers are also curved, which prevents skin from getting pinched between them and also makes it easier to rotate. From talking to others that "original" makes a lot of difference, except for the color and price, there doesn't seem to be any. As for another review of the longer stick, the rolling pin doesn't fare as well due to the lack of flexibility and lack of separate rollers. The rollers help individualize the rotation to different leg or body muscles. If you watch them do this, you will notice that they move differently in different areas. This style appears to be based on centuries-old massage therapy techniques using similar types of balls or rollers on a stick. This is a great stick, give it a try.
