This toilet seat was used as a costume. I walked around like a Halloween toilet lizard. It was packaged well and looked high quality. However, it was pretty difficult. If you buy this item for your bathroom, I think it's a win-win situation. If you're wearing this item around your neck as a suit, you might want to go for something lighter.

It came up while posting a toilet seat review but I bought it in September 2016 and knowing the fragility of the white color I carefully avoided overly vigorous cleaning but still less than 22 months later, in July 2018, the dye had worn off, revealing a gray undercoat. The seat is nice, looks great but after a few weeks it turns bluish black. I had to bleach the seat. I don't know what kind of pants I have that leave a small amount of paint on my skin, but the seat is porous enough to absorb the paint. Ugh so frustrating as I bleached the seat and cleaned it with a magic eraser but the paint or coating must have worn off and now it has dull spots. If you wear black pants or dark jeans, you may have the same problem.

Despite the fact that we changed the fittings, the seat and lid still worked perfectly (if anything changes I will let you know as soon as possible). On top of that, it just feels good/solid. It's not a soft close style, and with our mods it's a bit trickier in the "up" position, but that's up to us. Yes, we have had several unsuccessful and partially unsuccessful attempts with seats in recent years. but it deserves a real rating because of the excellent perceived value. Hope it's helpful.
