This is a beautiful and durable toilet seat. Seat and lid are made of wood. The case is beautiful and durable. When you use the cover to sit or let the child stand on it to dry, it is very secure and will not move or break under pressure. When you sit on the seat, it's not cold and it doesn't hurt. It was very easy to install, but the hardest part was removing the screw from the old, different brand seat. I took off a star because the first time I opened the lid and seat I lowered the seat and the lid came. hit the cuticle of the thumb and made them bleed. Ouch! I had to hold the lid and rock the seat up and down about 50 times to loosen it. After a week, the seat pad still moves forward when I lower the seat, but I think it will loosen over time, or I'll just have to spray it with WD-40.
