I bought two sets of these when they came out before all the reviews were out. My order was sent to my postal address for forwarding and I finally received it today at my overseas DPO address, but over the last 3 weeks I've been a little worried about the drop in average ratings. However, I now see that the low average could be due to the fact that Anker was actually honest and might not have bought the reviews or inflated them in the beginning to increase sales. Looks like Anker made it fair by selling the device at a discount at launch, which I applaud. Thanks anchor I am not a music lover but an audio enthusiast. I can compare them to my Sennheiser PXC 550 and my wife's Sony WH1000XM2, both true-to-life noise-cancelling over-ear headphones. I also own or currently own a Sennheiser HD598, HD6xx and Hifiman HD-4xx powered by a dedicated USB DAC/AMP. And I use the LG G7 because it has a quad DAC for use with wired headphones and while that doesn't matter here I wanted you to know where I'm from. Before I get to the product review, just to be clear, I'm not an avid Anker fan. It was mostly positive, but I've had several Anker products die right out of warranty, so I've never hesitated to try other brands. First of all, the complaint about the lack of bass is COMPLETELY unfounded. . On the bass frequency test, I found that the bass doesn't roll up to 32Hz and extends to 25Hz at an acceptable dB level. Either the other reviewers had very poor source material, or they used the wrong size earpiece, or they had a faulty unit. This is actually too much bass for electronic dance music, so I had to EQ it down a bit. One reviewer mentioned the V-Curve, and while I didn't notice any over-emphasized highs, I feel like they've optimized it for the mass market. You'll have to play around with the equalizer a bit to find the sound you want. For me the sound is acceptable. And for the $45 I paid for it, that's a HUGE compliment. Why? Because when I look at my Revain purchase history, I've tried at least 4 different bluetooth headphones with a cable from $20 to $40 and they were all TERRIBLE. For truly wireless headphones in this price range, the sound quality was a very pleasant surprise. They have different specs, but I'd say they're on par with the Sennheiser CX300 wired headphones and better than Samsung's AKG headphones, but with too much bass. However, these Anker headphones are MUCH more comfortable than the two wired ones I have. In addition, the processing quality is far superior to other headphones in this price range. They feel premium, with a soft texture even on the case. The case is small, well made and charges via USB-C. The earbuds fit well and don't move in my ear when I turn my head like wired Bluetooth headphones do. And contrary to one reviewer's complaint, the headphones can be VERY loud, and with the right fit and no sound leakage, all you want is to hurt your ears at high volume. I chose this model because 1. they were just released with the latest technology. like aptX, 2. active noise cancellation, 3. extended battery life due to the stem design and 4. IPx7. These will be my headphones for everyday commuting, with larger headphones reserved for long flights. TLDR: I have some audio experience. I bought two sets for me and my wife and we both love them. Take the bad reviews with a pinch of salt - these headphones are comfortable, have plenty of bass (too much without EQ), sound quality is acceptable at this price point (a compliment) and build quality is excellent. They're definitely worth the regular $60 price tag, although I was lucky enough to get them at a discount at launch. If my experience changes after using it for a while I will come back and edit the review.
