You MUST try this on prior to surgery to see if your cat accepts it. My cats, 3 of them are calm cats but all 3 panicked when I put this suit on them and ran around in fear. I decided to leave her alone, no plastic cone and no suit. They're not pushy groomers or slimers, so just observing them was easy. Basically, they did not lick the sutures or the wound. They left him alone. If they started licking, I would distract them with a toy or food. Otherwise it's well made, fits my medium sized cats well and they had plenty of room to move around in it. But they would have panicked about it, so they couldn't wear it for surgery. I bought an anti-chew spray to rub around the wound instead of in in case they started licking it, but all three left them alone.
