I fill my apartment with smart Philips Hue lamps. Along the ceilings I had three 4 inch cans. They had normal banks with low voltage converters on each bank. I took them out and replaced them with these. The springs on them are very reliable and effortlessly push the record out. The wiring harness inside is perfect for connecting the lamps together. Just strip the wire and use the connectors. Philips Hue shares the same connector as Halo LED downlights, so you can just plug it in and go. Now I have 6 more cans. And the small distance of these cans is very necessary. There are very small ones, just above the lamp itself. I have structures (beams, concrete) in the ceiling of my apartment that are absolutely immobile. You slide right underneath. having an electrician install new circuits for them as part of a kitchen renovation. He has never used them and loves them.
