Sometimes it's not so hot to turn on the air conditioner and then such a fan is an ideal and quieter way to clean a stuffy room. When the air conditioning is on, this fan is ideal for really hot days, helping to disperse the coolness more efficiently. These fans are awesome! I originally bought one and after a while of use just had to buy another one. But despite the 5-star rating I gave, the manufacturer didn't take into account two other things: 1. The light on the fan doesn't go out even when the fan is off. And at night in a dark room, whether it works or not, it has an annoying and dim little glowing blue light. I covered the light with a small piece of paper and that solved the problem. In addition, the remote control still works with paper.2. The remote control itself works fine but is very difficult to read even with the lamp on! I fixed the situation by circling the words on the remote with a red and black marker. However, it would be very nice if the remote control could be backlit.
