Review on CamelBak Ultra Handheld Chill Quick by Jason Pinkney

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Wow, who designed this?!

I love it and hate it at the same time. The design idea is amazing, but the execution seriously lacks thoughtfulness. It carries the Samsung Galaxy 5 without a case, and you can put a few items in the pocket in front. However, you can't get the bottle out of the jacket because there isn't a suitable opening, and refilling it gets your stuff and the cloth you have to hold wet. The hole in the fabric is too close to the bottle opening so you may not screw it in properly the first time and it may leak onto you and your belongings. The cooler bottle doesn't fill up completely and you can't see how much you have left. What I really liked was the design of the bag and the strap. You can hold it however you like and it won't slip off. I also like that the bottle has a standard camel bite valve. I didn't have to use the locking feature as it didn't leak. The problem is in the jacket and possibly in the bottle. You really are a pain in the ass. (I ended up using a $20 soft camel fish bottle and one of those $8 rubber bottle cages for my race while holding a phone with a loose strap in the other hand.)

Pros
  • Zippered phone pocket for quick access and storage
Cons
  • No color required
