I don't like traditional beds. I have back problems, so I prefer to sleep on a hard surface. Before I bought this I either slept on the floor straight away or had a temporary foam pillow to use for overnight guests. The problem was that this block wore out very quickly. To be honest I had a hard time finding just the right amount of pillow or padding for my personal needs/preferences but this futon was a great purchase. This is perfect for my needs. It has enough padding to make you feel more like a cushion than hard floor, but keep that firmness underneath. I wish I had bought it sooner. It's kind of a personal thing so what works for one person might not work for another, but I have nothing but praise for this futon. It even comes with a carrying case if you want to fold it up and put it away.
