Review on Regetek Double Touchscreen Bluetooth Control by Jeremy Floyd

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good, inexpensive main unit

My wife bought it for me this year for Christmas. He was on my wish list. Installation may require modification of the dashboard. I had to enlarge the hole to accommodate the stereo frame. It's larger than the standard 2-DIN. Judging by my photo, I don't have the strongest hand. My car is a 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid. Wiring seemed straight (color to color). I also bought a Regetek 170 CMOS rear camera but haven't installed it yet. I will check this separately. Bluetooth syncs instantly and the phone book loads very well. Phone calls come through clearly and my voice on the other end is clear based on my two phone calls made for testing purposes. Everything seems to be fine with the interface. It's definitely not "high-end," but it gets the job done. I don't need the remote, so I hide it somewhere for now, just like I did for my other car's stereo remote. Generally not bad for a budget head unit like CCR. Is it worth buying? Yes, if you are familiar with modifying the dashboard and hooking up a stereo. NO if you don't understand what I just said. ;) UPDATE: (26/02/2018) The screen when using the rear camera is of very poor quality. It's been driving me crazy since installing it. I replaced it with another head unit (Blaupunkt San Jose 120), new dash kit and new wiring harness. The same camera is crystal clear on this new device. I can install this regetek in my commuter car, but since it's larger than 2-din it may not work. I wasn't impressed with the cheapness of this head unit. If it doesn't fit in my other car without modification, I will sell this unit and buy another Blaupunkt.
