I wish it was HEPA certified/compliant BUT I don't notice an increase in allergy or airborne allergen symptoms when I stop vacuuming. I am buying my SECOND filter in TWO YEARS. The first one still looks ok, but I don't want to wash it with soap and water until I have a backup. I washed it when it was new and it has healed beautifully. I thought two years was the maximum I should ask for this price. In our progressive vacuum cleaner, this filter is completely clogged with dust and pet hair. Instead of giving it a wet wash every time, I take it to the garage and use a vacuum to vacuum this filter by tapping it hard on the concrete floor. I really like it better than the MUCH more expensive ones I got at Se@rs. They were paper and torn after repeated use.
