A good manual lens: Lenses

This isn't just a manual lens, it's a really great lens. It's also very sharp at f1.8. Images captured with this lens will introduce chromatic aberration in high-contrast, backlit subjects, but this can be easily corrected using manual lens correction in Adobe Camera Raw. I posted some examples of this to compare the original photo then enlarge it and then apply the corrections. Example images were taken with a 2004 Canon XT with APSC sensor. Yes, this camera is 15 years old and still works. One of the cats used flash. All shot at f1.8.

Pros
  • INCREASE YOUR CONTROL. With a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, you retain impressive control over depth of field, making this lens ideal for selective focusing techniques. With a sleek all-metal body that enhances and enhances the tactile experience, once you pick up an 85mm f/1.8 lens, you'll be constantly inspired to take your photography to the next level.
Cons
  • Big and chunky
