That's good, but not great

This table was decent enough to build until I had to try to add a shelf and drawer. The instructions state that a drill cannot be used to drill the screw holes they provide to attach the shelf to the table, however the plastic cover used on the underside of the table CANNOT be used with the *very soft screws provided * be punched. . Despite instructions warning us not to do this, we drilled a hole (there were no pre-drilled holes for the shelf and drawer they provide) so we could even attempt to attach the shelf and when we then attempted the to screw in the supplied screws, the wood was so soft that it did not stay inside. So, despite the picture provided, there isn't really a safe way to mount a shelf on this table, and it's not possible to mount the "drawer" that comes with it. For less than $200 we're not expecting heirloom furniture, but it would be nice to have something that was at least tried to be put together sensibly - and is safe. Otherwise everything else looks decent and seems to be holding up so far. Of course, we've only used it for a few hours at the moment.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Sad hardware
