I checked the dimensions of these speakers carefully before purchasing them, but once installed on my desk they still feel huge (at least compared to typical desktop speakers of the past). But the size makes for great sound - particularly nice bass (although it does seem to overwhelm the high frequencies at times). Possibly the most impressive desktop speaker I've ever owned (even better than my 20 year old Harmon Kardons, which I didn't want to part with). Oddly enough, one of the main reasons I chose them was the presence of a headphone jack on the main speaker (when I'm editing audio or video, I find it much more convenient to plug in my headphones right in front of me and use the volume). button on the speakers instead of running the cable to the computer's headphone jack). My only complaint is that it would have been more convenient to have the jack in the front.
