Pants and other clothes. What I love about this product is that it gives the hem a very professional look, especially when you match the color of the fabric. Unlike thermal tape, this product is impregnated with glue. After measuring the required length, you need to activate the adhesive by immersing the tape in a small container of water for a few seconds, then squeezing out most of the water (please read the instructions carefully for precise instructions). When ironing tape onto fabric, it's a good idea to have a spray bottle of water handy to dampen the tape if it dries too quickly. If you don't have one, you can just dip your fingers in the water and then place them on the tape to add some moisture. As a very hot iron is required for good adhesion, you should not use this product on delicate fabrics. . However, it has worked great on all of my viscose/cotton blend pants and jackets. After the pant legs were shortened a little longer than necessary, I turned them inside out, folded the hem to the desired size, and ironed it. To make sure I had enough tape to go all the way, with a little extra at the end, I laid the wet strip along the cut edge. I basically laid it down while ironing instead of pinning the whole strip. If you do it this way, leave some extra in case your measurements were wrong. Everything went very smoothly and quickly. The tape had excellent adhesion. The finished look was amazing. So far I have used the product for several pants, jackets and skirts. The hem is soft and smooth, not harsh at all. It would be pretty easy to add a line or two if I needed to reinforce it. All in all this is a great product. I liked it so much that I bought it in other colors. I also use a lot of thermal tape. This is a completely different product that only requires heat to fuse to the fabric. Although this product can be used with a raw edge, a good option is to use narrow thermal tape to create a narrow edge. Then fold it again and use this product to create the final finished edge. What I don't always like about thermal bonding is that unlike this product, it can make the lining a bit stiff. That's why I recommend buying both hems and using them depending on the type of fabric, the situation, and the desired result. see and feel.
