I bought this to replace my old crusher (also sold here) which died after 12 years. I wasn't entirely happy with The Crusher for a number of reasons, so I decided to try another brand. Before describing Easy Pull, I would like to mention the problems with The Crusher. First, he spat out a partially crushed can from time to time, the more he got the more. Second, I felt that the cans could be crushed a little more evenly. Third, while the construction was solid, the main hinge was sheet metal and simply wore out over time (with a better hinge it would probably last forever). Let's get to Easy Pull. I bought it because several reviewers on here recommended it. It mounts easily to my garage wall with two good long screws. Installation Notice. Since you'll need to use some force, you'll need to attach it firmly - the easiest way is to find a wall bar. Second, make sure it's at a comfortable working height. Third, find a place where it is convenient to put a bag or other container under the device to collect crumpled cans. Easy Pull's design has been thought through down to the smallest detail. With a combination of levers, the bench tilts forward when pressed. When the handle is lifted, the glass falls out. The machine runs light and smooth and the cans crush a little smoother than my old The Crusher. If you need to crush a lot of cans, you can work very quickly, up to 15-20 cans per minute. Im impressed with the design and happy with the Easy Pull. My only concern is durability as it is mostly plastic. It has a 30 day guarantee, but will it work in 5 years? I'm so impressed with the design that I'd happily pay an extra $10 or $15 for a "heavy duty" version. Overall, I recommend Easy Pull because it works so well, but with the understanding that I'm not sure how long it will last. UPDATE July 13, 2008: Well here we are 8 months later and the grinder is still working well, grinding 3 to 6 cans a day. My concerns about durability have been allayed. UPDATE August 24, 2009 Some bad news and some good news to report. First the bad news. After two years of service, my Easy Pull started having problems. The guide rods running through the upper crushing block have started to bind. This was because the holes in the top block were starting to wear out and the block was no longer sliding straight over the bars. The block is left to decay. I have published this information here. Now the good news. After posting the comment, I received a call from Easy Pull to apologize for the issue. The company boss pointed out that failures like the one my system developed were actually rare. The top block was changed about two years ago to fix a binding issue and most likely my block was one of the older versions. He found that the Easy Pull system had been extensively tested and should last for many years. They sent me a replacement and I'm happy again. I would add that the trash can that slides to the bottom of the device is a nice feature. Also, people should take note of the maintenance warning on the side of the grinder, which says you should apply some lube (like petroleum jelly) from time to time. I am very impressed that the company contacted me. This has never happened before. The top block modification he described to me sounds reasonable and should work. I was also impressed that they are serious about making a quality product. I'm back for the can smashing fun and will update this review over time. 26 Aug 2010 UPDATE. I've been using the PSU for a year, everything is fine. The top block shows no signs of wear and crushes cans perfectly. I didn't think I'd like the collection basket, but it's a really nice convenience. 21 Aug 2011 UPDATE. We are now on our second anniversary on the new block. I estimate over 3,000 doses have gone through it and there is no sign of giving up. I think this solves the durability problem.
