Be careful when welding as it is quite thin and can tend to be egg shaped making it difficult to screw in the cap screw. It's raw aluminum, so you have to be careful not to soil the cap with the cork. I recommend using a good anti-seize AFTER you're done welding and it's obviously cool to lubricate the threads and keep the cap from sticking.
