I bought this because of the sandalwood scent advertised. When I applied it, it smelled more like vanilla than anything else. I never thought it should smell like sandalwood like it says on the label. In the evening I usually apply a balm. With this product, the balm smells rancid in the morning - just terrible. I had to shower immediately after waking up to get rid of the smell which lingered throughout the day. Even some of my family members have noticed. I tried it twice just to make sure it was a balm and nothing else, but it was definitely a balm as it's the only part of my routine that I've changed. I don't know if there was anything wrong with this particular batch or anything else, it seems hard to believe anyone would accept that awful smell.
