My 10 year old son found this bench for me, I told him it should be at least 12 inches high, at least 6-8 inches to fit my feet and 8-10 in width, and a capacity of at least 150, wood and a pleasant look. Also the ratings had to be 4+. He really wanted a toy that cost $6 but I didn't want to pay for shipping lol he deserved it. The assembly was a bit fiddly, you don't have to tighten the screws first because then the other rods and screws will not fit. Once everything is in place, flip it over to make sure the bars line up with the wood, then tighten the screws and add the pieces of wood. It works great, it's a little scary at first, you adjust... and I have a great place to put it if it's out of place. I love that it can stay at the top of my closet with my boots. I didn't want a metal one that would pinch you, then have to carry it to the garage, then accidentally hit your shin and bruise it. It was a great purchase, I recommend it.
