Review on AMD Ryzen 5600G 12 Thread Processor by Jnis Avoti ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

I will note right away that I used Ryzen 3 2400G, Ryzen 5 2600, Ryzen 3 3200G and Ryzen 5 3400G, Ryzen 5 3500X, Ryzen 5 5500U. With so much baggage behind me, I can safely say: Switching from a Zen1 to Zen2 APU did almost nothing for the consumer, but switching from a Zen2 to Zen3 APU makes sense. If at one time the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G was still a controversial six-core "stub", which cost many times more than the 3400G but gave a modest increase in both CPU and GPU, then this is a different story. The 4650G had a principle - more is better, more cores, more threads. But having bought a powerful discrete to it, you would be disappointed, the performance per core is very low, the cache is cut off, and there are large memory delays. When replacing my 3500X with a 5600G in AIDA memory tests, I immediately got -10ns to RAM latency, without changing the timings and frequencies, I got 65ns instead of 75ns. Also, the speed of reading / writing RAM has grown by about 10%. Proc got a lot of "heirlooms" from the 5600X, and only lost some of the cache and pci lanes. My motherboard GIGABYTE B550M AORUS PRO-P likes to "turn heat" on processors, so I immediately staked out the power supply of the CPU core at a value of 1.2v, along the way I played a little with the heat pack limits and the extreme values \u200b\u200bof auto-overclocking for the cores. As a result, I got almost constant 4600Mhz auto overclocking, maximum heating of 60 degrees with a budget tower cooler, and an increase in FPS in games with a GTX 1050ti discrete in the region of 20% compared to the 3500X. To say that I am satisfied is like saying nothing. Finally, you can use the APU in hard times, and when the money appears, buy a video card without changing the CPU to a more productive one. I definitely advise you to buy, especially if you find cheaper than 20k on the secondary. I added one screenshot with the results of APU tests with a top-end discrete, so as not to be unfounded.

Pros
  • The G AMD processor is no longer a flawed processor with a cool video card, it's a cool modern processor with a cool video card. Much more powerful memory controller compared to Zen2. Very low heat dissipation at nominal power per core. Very cool auto overclocking to 4.6Ghz on my motherboard. With simple 3200Mhz RAM on the CL18, the plug-in works better than the Nvidia 1030GT.
