I wanted towel rails in my laundry room to attach to the laundry tub. They're cheap and serve a purpose. However, before I could use them, I had to heat them up and realign all the segments. When unpacked, the arms were not perpendicular to the stem and the adhesive pads were not perpendicular to the arms when installed. As a result, pressure had to be applied to the rod to keep the panels flush with the mounting surface everywhere. This deformed the rod and subjected it to spring tension, causing the plates to partially bounce off the mounting surface. To solve this problem, I was able to use a hair dryer to heat the plastic to a high enough temperature to bend everything in the right direction.
