The bottom is missing "something" (filling?) for comfort. My cat won't sleep in it, play in it, play in it; actually he has nothing to do with it - which is not surprising, because he is damn picky and quirky. I set him down and he immediately jumps out as if I've insulted his not-so-gentle nature and then continues to give me a very accusatory look. Although he peed there. I don't know if it was malicious, it's hard to tell from his judgmental looks, but he found a use for it. Washed on a delicates, tumble dried on a low and it's not as soft as it used to be. It's soft, just not that soft. If it were human size, I would sleep in it. Especially when there's memory foam on the bottom.
