Purchased for use in 30 amp RV service. The SPECIFICATIONS AND PARTS section states that it is made of 10/3 AWG wire. The wire is stamped "12/3 AWG". If 30A current is not available and you use it to run an air conditioner, it will get hot, melt and could cause a fire. The use of small household appliances such as televisions, microwave ovens, hair dryers and other household items is not a problem. 12/3 AWG wire is commonly used in all homes. BUYERS BEWARE of using electrical cords of any kind that are too small in diameter for their needs. A NOTICE. For electrical wire: the lower the number, the thicker the wire. DO NOT use 12/3 or 14/3 AWG wire to power air conditioners.
