I love coffee and I love photography. Both interests meet over a cup of coffee. I love this mug and I think it would be a great conversation piece. I had an issue with the lid though - it tends to jump off the threads when putting it on or taking it off, making it a lot harder to work with. parts. Designed to resemble a quality camera zoom lens, it can easily be mistaken for a real lens at first glance. It has corresponding markings on the sides for zoom, auto/manual focus and many other settings. Close inspection reveals the truth, but you really can't see it from across the room. Two telltale signs in the distance are the brand name on the bottom of the mug and no branding on the sides. The inside of this mug is made of stainless steel and the outside is made of a thick layer of plastic. This insulation is enough to keep the mug warm when the lid is closed and enough so you won't burn your hands while holding this mug. The base is a thicker plastic disc, just enough to keep the mug warm and off the table it's on. The problem with this mug is the lid. Or rather, with threads in a cup in which the lid is pulled. The threads on the lid are very well defined but the threads on the steel liner are generally poorly defined and in fact it is small and smooth. As a result, the lid tends to be screwed unevenly and is difficult to move or remove. This is the only fault I have found with this mug and this is the first mug I have had this problem with. This is a minor issue that can be worked around, but it's noticeable enough to deserve attention. This is a good mug and I like it. It holds heat well, looks good and is a great conversation piece.
