Works great, good value for money. If you have a 12 volt converter on the front panel, you will need this factory resistor for the 12 volt coil (if you are using a 12 volt coil on the front panel). If you are using the original 6 volt coil you will need this resistor plus the ceramic resistor which should have come with the kit. As far as I know this is a 2 ohm resistor. If you suspect your factory resistor bank is defective, use an ohmmeter to measure between the top two screw terminals; it should show continuity, about 1.5 ohms. If he doesn't read at all, then he's bad and will need this piece to replace him.
