Review on πŸ”₯ Rowenta DW8080 Professional Micro Steam Iron with Stainless Steel Soleplate, Auto-Off, 1700-Watt, 400-Hole, Blue - Enhanced for SEO by Matthew Wheeler

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Came doesn't work as it should.

This is my first high end iron that I paid over $25 for. I've bought dozens of steam irons in the past and this is the first one that doesn't work right out of the box. The steam boost button only worked when the iron was in a vertical position, rendering my iron unusable. The steam boost only worked in the ironing position: if you press the button several times in the vertical position, it works once in the ironing position. Also, I have to press the button 4-5 times for it to start producing vapor. Once primed everything is fine. It has almost doubled my ironing time compared to my $12 Black and Decker which has worked as it should for the past 3 years. Against my better judgment I am sending it back for an exact replacement. If it performs as well as I expected from an $85 iron I will update this review. The return process is very easy as always, but if I had to do it again I would strongly consider Maytag or Chi Iron, both have the best guarantees and great reviews like this one. UPDATE I received my new iron two days ago. after the start of the return. As always, Revain really excelled at customer service. The new hardware works as it should and I am very happy with its performance. The learning curve for me is how much faster I can work with this iron. Many people complain that the water tank runs out quickly due to the amount of steam this iron puts out, but my technique allows me to iron a badly wrinkled long-sleeved shirt in less than a few minutes. The steam recovery and warm-up times of the iron are excellent. I really like the analog controls, not the electronic knobs and digital controls, there are just fewer issues with this iron.
