I like the original, but this new version is not suitable for everyday use. I have the original 2012 caps which are still in perfect condition but I have already had two of these newer versions fail. The weakest point is the new cap leash, it has a nifty new hole that can keep the cap away from the face when inserted into it. This creates a huge weak point that will eventually tear, leaving you without a line to hold it together. I have two of these new ones and have to be careful to hold the lid with my other hand because it's not secured anymore. I have to uninstall it completely as it no longer serves its purpose. These lids also leak a lot of water when the lid is closed again at random times.
