When the cable stays connected to my 1st gen Pixel phone it charges (slowly). However, I find the cord to be finicky and for some reason it detaches from the phone very easily. None of my other USB-C cables fall out of my phone with little to no tug, so I'm not sure what's wrong with them. I decided to keep them as I use them when I charge my phone at night so I'm just careful when I put my phone down at the end of the day. However, if I were buying them to use when I'm actively using my phone or need a quick top-up, I'd return them. UPDATE: Rep Sylvia saw this review and worked with me to send a replacement free of charge without having to return an apparently defective batch I had purchased. The replacement cables connect perfectly to my phone, no issues with them loosening or disconnecting like I did with my first set. Great customer service and great product! Thank you Sylvia!
