I want to start by saying I've been stretching my ears with silicone plugs for 18 years and never had a problem. I have no known allergies or sensitivities to anything. I bought these as most of my stuff is boxed when I move and I'm pretty sure my other plugs are in my storage unit somewhere. Those forks went in pretty easily. A little thicker than I like, but nothing I can't work with. I just started smaller than I would have liked so my ears could adjust to the material. I continued to treat and clean them as usual. By the end of the second day, my earlobe was swollen. By the middle of the third day I had developed a full fledged infection that required antibiotics. This has **never** happened to me. Just be careful with it. As I said, I have zero sensitivity to materials and have strained my ears long enough to know how to properly clean body jewelry.
