I ordered this remedy for snoring - inherited from my father. But the 5ft 2in woman was concerned. Especially when your 20-year-old husband can't wake you up to stop snoring and is sleeping in the guest room. This trend is over with this wonderful pillow! He reports that my snoring has stopped (3 weeks or more) and he can stay in our bedroom all night. Hooray! The pillow comes tightly compressed but unfolds easily in about 40 minutes. It's very soft (memory foam) and comfortable for me, but maybe too soft for overweight people. That applies to my husband. We ordered a similar wedge pad for him (a different brand) which was much stiffer and which some customers said they sent back because it was "too stiff". Another brand's stiffness was perfect for him - he sank so hard into this pillow that it gave him almost no lift or support. But I found this pillow gave me enough support and the gentle rise to 7 inches above was perfect for me. If you're considering a wedge pillow for acid reflux (like my husband), then lifting and support are key factors when choosing a pillow. Consider your height and sleeping habits. The smaller size also fits me perfectly - my hands rest comfortably on the pillow all night and never fall off. When ordering, we took the dimensions of the pillow into account because we knew you might wake up with stiffness or discomfort if your hands fall off the wedge at night. Again we ordered a larger size (different brand) for my husband who is 5ft 10" with broad shoulders. The cushions come with a removable zipped cover, but it fits quite tightly. After reading about the problems others were having trying to put the pillow back in the cover, we ordered pillowcases (from another company) that matched the measurements of our two different pillows. They were similar to regular pillowcases in that they were slightly larger than pillows, making them easy to put on. They were also thick (400 pieces), all cotton zip covers, and although we only used them for one night I'm willing to order a second set for us. One piece of advice we can give when using wedge pillows: do not place the top of the wedge directly against the headboard/wall as you will not be able to take full advantage of the height of the wedge. After trial and error, we found that we had a more comfortable night's sleep if we left the top of the wedge about 3-4 inches from the headboard - the head didn't bang against the headboard and we got more buoyancy. Our bed pillows are about ΒΌ-β from the top of the wedge, but that seems to work best for us. We recommend the Bamboo Wedge pillow. It saved my life.
