They're not bad, but they have flaws

For some reason I expected a lot from them, maybe the $200 price point. That they aren't too loud doesn't bother me as I don't want to damage my hearing, other than that the sound quality is quite good and there are several equalizer options in the app and I have to admit I left it on. amplified equalizer, not THX. I just got them to study and block my wife and child in our small apartment and as long as I have some light music or a good noise generator from mynoise it works great for that purpose. The complaint about them is that when I turn off ANC there is a very faint but very high pitched electrical signal in my right ear that will drive anyone crazy, I'm not sure if it's a bad pair or what but the firmware is fine. Today it still does this about 80% of the time when ANC is off. This makes me sad because I like to take regular breaks from ANC, but now when they are on, ANC MUST be on or this whining is driving me crazy and I feel like it hurts. To be honest I wish I had swapped them. and spent another 50-100$ for these good Sony headphones which are very similar. Well this will probably be my last RAZER product as it was my first experience with their hardware and I'm not overly impressed considering there are other options at this price point that seem objectively better.

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
